d curious case of marks......

yesterday one of moi frnds boght b.com 1st year books(believe it or not,first hand).......i was amazed to c dis......den just to pull his leg i asked him for a bet.....d bet was dat even by studying dose books he wouldnt get first division in d exams and he accepted it whole-heartedly.....wish i lose my bet....
but d chances of dat happening r very less......
okk lets discuss sum interesting things abt RAJASTHAN UNIVERSITY(or rather commerce college).....
its hard to belev dat it is an a+ accredited university......first of all talking abt d admission process........wen i passed out my 12th,d cutoff for commerce college was 74% which has now increased to 78-79 in 3 years......dat would give an impression dat d grade and reputation of college is on a rise.....
dont let dat impression get ova ur mind....
dere r 2 reasons for it.,firstly,year by year scoring in boards is becoming easier and secondly,as dere is no other college to get into.......
every year d last date announced for completion of admission procedure extends by atleast 10-15 days......showing off d irregularities
now wat does d student gets wen he enters into d college......dere r a maximum of 50 students present in d college out of which only 20 r attending classes,dis doesnt mean dat d otha 30 dont want to attend classes but dat needs a professor to take d class(who is busy doing chit-chat in d staff room)......normally it takes around 4-5 days for a guy to understand dat wil b d story of his college lyf(if he didnt knew it frm before)......
dis was d story for d 1st year guys......2nd and 3rd year to dont even know deir classes or deir roll call no......
dis is also d reason y students want admission in dis college as dey know dat it wouldnt b required to attend d college and dey can prepare for d full time professional course....
now come to examination part.....
99%(over exaggerating....huh....naaaa)students prepare for d exams from one week series(available in d markets from december end)....and u know wat,dey mostly fall short of demand.....
talking abt d examination pattern.....3 subjects equal 6 papers,all of 100 marks......out of which 40 r for objective(not multiple choice) and 60 marks part comprises of 3 questions each of 20 marks
i seriously hate dis 20 marks question concept,as first of all how can u allot such a high weightage to a single question,secondly,dis means dat only 3 topics from d whole book wil b covered(u c,dat is y students prefer one week series) and thirdly it doesnt even require quality and topic specific writing(all abt filling pages,d more u fill d betta is d result).....
and most importantly u can hav d guess paper d last night of d exam(more of an out paper)....u wil hav atleast 2 questions matched in d actual paper from dat paper.....
now comes d result part......
it all depends on d mood and generosity of d professor checking ur copy......u shudnt even estimate.....
i'll give u an example......i dint studied at all in d 1st year,i got 60% marks(a drastic fall from 12th result)......den in d 2nd year being afraid of admission in a leading b school,i studied a lot(may b whole 2 months,althogh frm one week,but it was fine).....i got 63%.....my frnd who dint studied at all(not even on d examination day) got 64%.......moreova i got myself 7 marks reduced in rechecking.....
den i decided dat i wudnt study for 3rd year exams,also i had my mba entrance exams til feb end,i dint study even on d eve of d exam.....guess wat,i got 71 dis tym.......
now whom wil u put ur money on in d bet...
and i tell u,dis is more or less d case wid every college in rajasthan.......
i wudnt lyk to give my recommendations as dat would make moi blog a bit 2 lengthy......may b sum otha tym

come on dude......is it a +ve curiosity dat whom wil palak abuse in d next episode or wat wil b d answer of a 60 year old chap sitting in front of his daughter to "have u ever had sex wid a prostitute"........
also dese shows create demand not fulfills demand.....i m not for banning dem as we live in a democracy....but yeah dey can b regulated as r films censored.....
i forgot to mention abt dese news shows,i completely agree wid u....sorry for not talking abt dem....may b dey need a full blog entry for dem...lol

and guys sorry for not posting any enrty yesterday,i know dat u must hav felt disappointed......lol

I'm tired. For a couple years, I've been blaming it on iron poor blood, lack of vitamins, dieting and a dozen other maladies. But now I found out it ain't that. I'm tired because I'm overworked.

The population of this country (the USA) is 237 million. 104 million are retired. That leaves 133 million to do the work. There are 85 million in school, which leave 48 million to do the work. Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government.

This leaves 19 million to do the work. Four million are in the Armed Forces, which leaves 15 million to do the work.

Take from the total the 14,800,000 people who work for State and City Government and that leaves 200,000 to do the work.

There are 188,000 in hospitals, so that leaves 12,000 to do the work. Now, there are 11,998 people in Prisons. That leaves just two people to do the work. You and me.

Boy Oh Boy . . . And you're sitting there reading this. No wonder I'm tired, I'm the only one working.
