last year around 275000 students appeared for cat,dis year d number is expected to increase by another 20 odd thousand(correct me if i m wrong).......seats in all iim's combined r around 1500-1700....dis means a ratio of around 200:1....
dis year CAT is going d computer way leaving its tradional paper-pencil pattern......it wil based on CBT(computer based test) format(not online,as most thinks)......if u want answers to all ur questions u can visit d links provided at d end....
now wat is so special abt cat.......
firstly it gives an oppurtunity to get into country's topmost mba collges(other from iim's also)....,secondly it has got a hell of a lot of colleges accepting its score(so if u dont think u can get into d elite collges,u can get into other colleges).....
dere r a gud no of exams other dan cat to get into d top colleges......so even if u spoil ur cat,u shudnt lose hope......

starting frm IRMA,it is d most easy 1(easier dan MAT even)......all abt speed
IIFT-toughest of d lot(harder dan CAT and XAT)......
CAT-most challenging(gets everthing out of u).......spl emphasis on english
JMET-cant tell ya much as it is for engineering students only.....spl emphasis on maths
SNAP-easy
NMAT-very easy....all abt speed
XAT-second biggest exam....tough 1
FMS-all abt english
MFC-easy....all abt speed
MAT-easy......important exams for dose who dont think of cat
MCET-easy.....u hav to attempt all questions as dere is no negative marking....
d list of colleges affiliated to dese exams goes endless......
i hav seen many students getting fascinated by those colleges who adverttise a lot......
my personal belief is dat 'worse u r,more u advertise'.....so watch out puys....
so guys,d fact of d matter is dat it is high tym now and u shud extend ur prep to d optimum leva......

CONTRAST : Setting 100.

This is a late post. Actually, i wrote this when we came back but forgot to post it. So, we went on a 10-11 day OFFICIAL educational tour of Europe visiting NETHERLANDS, BELGIUM, FRANCE, SWITZERLAND & LEICHTENSTEIN. Many things have already been said and many pictures posted, so I am just going to tell few things which i found to be opposite of what we have here in India. Good or bad, these things are in CONTRAST. 1) TRAFFIC. HERE Four Wheelers are given the most importance then comes the number of two wheelers and then finally the pedestrians, THERE pedestrians are the most important (probably because they cant afford to lose out on their already meagre population), then comes the bicycle walas, then the two wheelers and finally the four wheelers. They have these pedestrians red lights everywhere so basically when it is red for them they are supposed to stop but if somehow u miss it then the four wheeler would stop and first let you pass.
